SDK Concepts
This guide explains the concepts of the Kinvey SDK. It primarily discusses how asynchronous flows are managed using Async and Await.
Asynchronous Programming with async
and await
The Kinvey SDK makes extensive use of the asynchronous programming paradigm using the async/await keywords in C#, which are part of the Task-based Asynchronous Pattern (TAP). The goal of using TAP is to improve app responsiveness, as well as to make writing code against the API cleaner and easier. Public API methods that are asynchronous have names that end with Async
(e.g. FindAsync()
).
Using the asynchronous API means that no additional threads are created. Please be aware that this work could potentially be executing on the mobile application's UI thread.
